Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering, you will:

  • Possess primary accountability for the delivery of automation installation engineering projects with a team of stakeholders within the Engineering and Process Design Team.
  • Work at a detailed project level on engineering details, "should cost" financial detail comparisons, and embody a mindset of safety, quality and cost driven focus.
  • Empower and inspire others to deliver a successful project within the scope of the Operations Integrated Plan to time, cost, benefit, and quality.
  • Manage all governance arrangements for the delivery of projects, including managing the business protocols to secure investments, ensuring mandatory project lifecycle is followed, establish and maintaining the governing bodies from project through to portfolio, and effectively control of all change requests.
  • Direct production, consolidation, and documentation of the fundamental components of a project, such as scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, issues, and quality, and operate at a technical level and project management level.

    To truly excel in this role, you will possess, and be able to evidence, the skills and experience listed below:
  • Able to work at a technical level with designers, facilities, and process teams, and able to challenge, coach, and work with stakeholders to drive best solutions.
  • Strong experiences as an engineering project or programme specialist with a track record in delivering multiple, complex, critical, and technically progressive projects to time and budget.
  • Experience managing a team of project managers, and leading other project teams, whilst working on multiple projects at any given time.
  • Able to simultaneously manage a set of complex and interdependent project strands within an overall programme at various phases of deployment.
  • Experience of working with diverse individuals and cultures and leading on culture change and implementing new ways of working within a business.
  • APM or Prince2 programme management qualification and a strong CDM and safety delivery track record.
  • Desirably, international project delivery experience with experience implementing site safety operations internationally, or proven experience of delivering projects across a national operation.
