Technical Manager

As the Technical Manager - OCTG, you will be responsible for the global coordination and technical supervision of our Inspection Services Contract with a major client covering OCTG, Conductor Pipe, Wellhead Systems, Xmas Trees, Completion equipment etc. This will involve the provision of technical assistance directly to our client in the ongoing development of their OCTG and associated equipment specifications, audits of suppliers and the development of their Manufacturing Site Quality Surveillance Systems. Key activities:

• Technical QA/QC review and comment on client internal TR documents for compliance with ISO, API and specific Company requirements.
• Technical assessment/qualification of prospective suppliers including the provision of detailed reports including conclusions and recommendations.
• Technical QA/QC review of supplier’s material specifications and internal manufacturing, inspection/test procedures and recommend/propose actions where required.
• Technical QA/QC review of supplier’s client-specific Manufacturing Procedure Specifications and client-specific Quality Plans
  
  We are seeking someone who has experience working in the oil and gas industry with strong knowledge of OCTG manufacturing processes, inspections, and tests from steelmaking through to the finished product, both seamless and welded., Prior experience with API and proprietary connections and connection testing
• Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards and with quality assurance and control processes for OCTG and associated materials, products, and equipment
• Previous Oil & Gas industry experience with strong experience in OCTG manufacturing processes, inspections, and tests from steelmaking through to the finished product, both seamless and welded
• Understanding of OCTG Material requirements, Technical Specifications, Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans and Test Procedures
