Full Job Description

The role will initially involve working within our Media Central department, focusing on post-production workflows and line recordings, primarily using Avid. The role will then develop to include working on live programmes and transmission within Pacific Quay, using the Command and EVS systems. Following this, you will be introduced to OB work, focusing on developing advanced EVS skills, including sport replays and analysis editing.

BBC Scotland are looking for a new team member to join our Operations and Post Production team. We are looking to develop our next replay operator using EVS and Command along with working in our Post Production department. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Live Transmissions, ideally in replays. Who also has an interest in Post Production. The role will be multiskilled with duties spilt between working in our Media Central undertaking Post Production work using Avid to ingest, basic edits, file creation, QC checks and File delivery. Working alongside our Editors and Dubbing Mixers. Along with Studio and Outside Broadcast, with duties including Studio recording, VT play ins, EVS replays and editing. This year our team has been involved in a wide range of Programmes such as Sportscene including the Scottish Cup Final, TRNSMT, Scam interceptors, The Weakest Link, Sky at Night, Imagine, Saturday Mash Up, Election 24.,

  • Experience in Live Transmission Work ideally with use of EVS or similar replay system.

  • Use of Avid or other Professional Editing Software.

  • Be able to work well and communicate in a team, but also to work individually.

  • Excellent IT skills, an ability to acquire other technical skills and to operate technical equipment.

  • Be able to work under pressure and remain calm and focused.
