Full Job Description

The Network Condition Technician's role is to provide a maintenance and design service and general administration relating to roads in accordance with the prescribed standards and policies of the Council, all relevant legislation and to contribute to the effective delivery of high-quality services. To ensure that roads, footways, cycle routes and footpaths are maintained to a safe standard allowing consistent safe passage of network users. Duties include:

Investigating and responding to internal and external enquiries, customer complaints and other correspondence regarding service delivery.

Liaising with other Teams, suppliers, and other internal / external parties as necessary.

Producing reports and other documentation as required relating to Third Party Claims and Freedom of Information enquiries.

As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a "blended working" arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.

You should be educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at credit level including Maths and English at level 3 or above, or equivalent.

You should have experience or hold the following qualities:
- Good communication skills
- Experience dealing with the public
- Relevant roads experience in Local Government
- I.T. skills
- Familiarity with civil engineering and / or roads maintenance documentation
- Ability to travel around Fife at short notice
- Team working skills
