Full Job Description

NMIS seeks to appoint a Workshop Technician to support the operation of specialised equipment within its workshops. You will be primarily responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of machine shop CNC 5-Axis equipment used in relation to the delivery of industrial and academic research programmes.

To be considered for this role you will be educated to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent; or have relevant work experience in a similar role. You will have significant knowledge and expertise in multi axis CNC machining including: setting, programming and operation, and be able to interpret engineering drawings. You will have excellent troubleshooting skills, including a methodical approach to solving complex problems, with limited guidance. You will have an ability to work autonomously, prioritising and coordinating your own workload and making decisions with minimum supervision in order to meet project deadlines and you will have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Whilst not essential for the role, applications are welcomed from candidates with experience of supporting production, and research and development manufacturing requirements.
