Ward 1 Medicine - Perth Royal Infirmary
Trainee Assistant Practitioner 37 hours
Band 3 progressing to Band 4 on successful completion of Qualification
Ward 1 are expanding opportunities for Health Care Support Workers to develop and progress into the role of an Assistant Practitioner. These are new, exciting and innovative roles supported with education and training from NHS Tayside Practice Development Team, our Clinical Educator and Dundee or Perth College. The duration of the training period is approximately 1 year and on successful completion you will progress to a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner post.
As an Assistant Practitioner you will be working at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams delivering high quality, patient-centred care, supervised and reporting to a Registered Practitioner. This will require you to be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing, to share our commitment to maintaining high standards in everything we do, and to demonstrate that you can work effectively within a team that behaves in accordance with our values.
We are seeking to recruit people who are committed to delivering outstanding patient care, take pride in what they do and are enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking and motivated to learn and develop. A caring, professional manner & excellent communication skills are essential. You must work well in a high pressure environment and have the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Please note that these positions require the successful applicants to work a variety of shifts, including nights & weekends. These areas currently work 11.5 hour shifts. You will be expected to complete the Mandatory Induction Standards For Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
