Full Job Description

Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Cylinder Workshop Technician to support our onshore and offshore business based in Aberdeen. The role involves supporting Intertek’s Field Services Pillar with a focus on the receipt, handling and dispatch of rental and client client-owned cylinders, whilst adhering to all aspects of Intertek’s QHSE processes and behavioural culture.

Key Activities

  • Perform all activities within the workshop following all procedures including handling, cleaning, and leak testing of all sample cylinders

  • Loading and offloading of sample cylinders which may involve the use of a forklift

  • Log cylinder movements in and out of the cylinder section following Intertek procedure

  • Ensure all cylinders are correctly stored in their designated area

  • Raise all necessary dispatch documentation to ensure the cylinders are dispatched to the correct client

  • Minor repairs of any damaged vessels as detected and advising the Equipment and Cylinder Coordinator of any additional costs incurred

  • Ensuring that all incoming cylinders are within mandatory certification and maintaining all records within the database

  • Arranging for re-certification of any cylinder as appropriate

  • Overview of maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment

  • Ensure workshop and cylinder container are kept clean, tidy and in an orderly fashion

  • Full, Clean Driving Licence

  • Eager and wiling to learn

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Proven ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels in a professional manner at all times

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to liaise directly with clients, vessel crews from varying nationalities and a wide range of staff, outside organisations and individuals in a professional manner.

  • Good problem identification and solving skills

  • Proficient in computer programs such as MS Office and data entry

  • Flexible approach to working hours
