Job Summary
East Dunbartonshire Council are looking to appoint a Trainee Early Years Assistant as part of a Scottish Government funded work experience programme.
Candidate should have an understanding of a good work ethic. Be willing to work with others as part of a team. Contribute to ensuring a safe and stimulating early year’s environment. Assist in Interacting and responding to children, communicating with parents/carers, providing physical care for children as directed by team Leader/ supervisor, assist in providing play activities that encourage learning and development, assist in undertaking frontline services across a range of council properties/locations to an agreed schedule and standards.
They should have a genuine interest and use this opportunity to gain essential experience. Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided. The preferred candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
This is a temporary role for 6 months for those who are parents with dependent children with barriers to employment or unemployed for 12 months or more with barriers to employment. Vacancies are conditional dependant on Funding.

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
East Dunbartonshire Council will meet the cost of the check.
