Full Job Description

As a Trainee Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with our Commercial and Operational teams, gaining invaluable experience in managing and controlling the financial and commercial aspects of projects and contracts. You'll learn how to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest levels of customer satisfaction.,

  • Build a deep understanding of business functions, collaborating with operational teams to identify cost controls and savings.
  • Prepare and review client accounts and commercial operating statements.
  • Analyse project drawings and quantify work.
  • Generate and review payments, sub-contract purchase orders, and ensure compliance.
  • Track applications for payment, ensuring timely receipt.
  • Understand the company's financial cycle, meeting submission deadlines.
  • Support measurement and valuation of completed works.
  • Take pride in your work and demonstrate determination to succeed.
  • Attend college to complete your Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician apprenticeship, laying a strong foundation for your career.

    To succeed in this role, you should be:
  • Keen to start a career in the building materials industry, with a desire to specialise in Quantity Surveying or a commercial role.

  • Improvement-focused, always looking for better ways of working., Higher qualification (Grade C or above) with National 5 Maths (Grade C), suitable construction qualifications and/or experience, or NQ in a construction-related subject.
