Full Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Shipping Controller, the successful applicant will undertake a comprehensive training programme across the Shipping function utilising the shipping standards as a basis. You will become competent with a skill set to foster a deep understanding of Shipping as well as other functions within ASCO. Duties include:
- Rotate through different elements of shipping gaining hands on experience and receiving mentorship from Senior Shipping Controllers
- Complete assigned tasks, demonstrating the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new environments.
- Develop proficiency in ILMS system tools and Operators ERPS
- Gain knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirement
- Once competent, covering roles within Shipping to support holidays and sickness and ultimately progress to a Shipping Controller role.
Maintains positive work relationships. - Developing and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues, customers and vendors
- Ability to prioritise tasks and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Works well under pressure
- Ability to work stand-alone while a positive contributor to the wider team.
- Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite and a practical understanding of data entry
- Client-driven with a proven track record within an administrative role.
- Good organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation., Educated to GCSE/Higher level or equivalent
