For Falkirk Council employees this is a secondment opportunity. Prior to application please obtain confirmation from your current Line Manager that you can be released to take up this secondment opportunity, should you be successful.

The post holder will work in conjunction with workforce development team colleagues and liaise with managers, local agencies and Forth Valley Care Home Support Team.

A key task will be to support staff recruitment during the winter months. The postholder will deliver induction and core training for Care Home new recruits. This will enable them to commence their role without delay and carry out required duties competently in line with Safe Staffing and Health and Safety legislation.

This will include training such as: Moving and Handling, working with people displaying signs and symptoms of stress and distress, Nutrition, Frailty and Aging and other Health and Safety related issues.

The postholder will be based in The Foundry, Larbert and become a member of the Falkirk Social Work Training and Workforce Development Team. They will require to deliver training in various locations across Forth Valley to meet identified needs on behalf of Clackmannanshire & Stirling and Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnerships.

It is essential you have a degree or equivalent level qualification or experience in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing and experience of working in the care sector. They will require to have knowledge of Community Care and Adult Support and Protection legislation.

We are looking for a passionate experienced trainer who can step into this position quickly and begin to respond to needs associated with winter pressures. The postholder should ideally hold recognised Moving and Handling of people and Managing Challenging Behaviour Instructor qualifications.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Falkirk Council.
