Position

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Transport and Leased Car Manager based at Ailsa Hospital.

What you will do:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and effective Transport Manager to provide leadership and develop our Transport Service here at NHS A&A.

This post would suit an experienced, proactive and motivated Transport with:

  • Skills and knowledge of vehicles and team leadership
  • Management of Operator Licence legislation and a large
  • number of fleet vehicles.
  • Quality improvement and collaborative team working across
  • the board in regard to sustainability.

The sole person who has complete autonomy and responsibility of NHS Ayrshire and Arrans Operator licence with required qualification which allows it to operate a commercial vehicle fleet under the Scottish Area Traffic rules and ensure it is safe, secure and legal.

Manage and develop a continuously changing Transport department (vehicles and staff).

Overall fleet responsibility for the whole NHS Ayrshire and Arran and area-wide transport advice.

Overall management of the NHS Ayrshire and Arrans lease vehicle and Works closely with senior management and the National groups to manage the service and develop it into a sustainable and greener future (Health Facility Scotland, Senior team fleet meetings, travel and logistic meetings).

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You will ideally come from a mechanical and engineering background, educated to Degree level and hold professional certificate of competency from the Royal Society of Arts. An operators licence is essential.

You should have extensive and successful experience managing a transport fleet of similar proportions and complexities and be able to demonstrate the technical and organisational skills required to manage such a diverse fleet .It will also be necessary to have complete awareness and understanding of the varied requirements within such an organisation.

Hours: 37 per week. Usual working hours are Monday to Friday.

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
