Time

Either in or out of office hours Estimate of time needed:
0-5 hours / month Board meetings are bi-monthly, lasting 2 hours with additional preparation time. Additional hours required as needs arise.,

  • An appreciation of the CAB service and its impact on individuals

  • An awareness of wider societal issues relating to the Bureau's main areas of advice

  • Of the role and responsibilities of being a Bureau Trustee (see governance)

  • An understanding of the work of Hamilton CAB

  • Knowledge of or skills/experience in at least one core skill area identified by the board - see below.

    Hamilton CAB develops activities in accordance with a three-year strategic plan which is developed by the staff and volunteers with board input and approval.

    Hamilton CAB may from time to time seek to recruit board or sub-group members with specific skills, knowledge, experience or expertise to contribute to facilitating and achieving aspects of the strategic plan.

    This is an exciting time to join our board. Last year we launched our new three-year strategic plan and you will have the opportunity to work with the other Trustees and our Chief Officer to take this plan forward.

    As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction and governance of the organisation. Your insights, expertise, and decision-making will directly influence the overall impact and effectiveness of our work.

    We are currently looking to recruit individuals who would like to contribute to their local community by joining our Board of Trustees. We are seeking team players who have strategic vision, independent judgement, a willingness to give time and commitment to help support and develop our organisation. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with knowledge and experience in: Law, HR, Fundraising, Digital Marketing, Governance, Climate Change, Public and Third Sector Organisations.

    Applicants will have the experience and skills to ensure that the charity continues to develop and provide high-quality long-term services. As a Trustee, you will be required to ensure to the good governance of the organisation which will involve attendance at quarterly board meetings and an annual AGM, alongside participation in working project groups and sub committees.,
