Full Job Description

Lockheed Martin UK - Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support. LMUK SS, as part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, is also responsible for the management of operations at RNAD Coulport. Looking to the future, LMUK SS supports the joint US and UK submarine design efforts., We are seeking a TTF Field Engineer to join our team based in Helensbrug. This role offers a 9/75 working pattern, meaning you'll enjoy every other Friday off.

  • Work as a fully integrated member of the Trident Training Facility, Training Equipment Team. Conducting Preventative and Corrective Maintenance on Launcher, Fire Control, Navigation and Strategic Weapon Support (SWSS) Equipment, across both Vanguard and Dreadnought systems.

  • Developing an understanding of the Weapon Training Systems & Training Stimulation Systems.

  • Provide technical advice and support to other TTF Staff, TSPT and other Stakeholders to ensure that customer needs and expectation are met

  • Required to travel within the UK and to the US to attend Technical Exchange Meetings, undertake Contractor provided training and to provide any UK Engineering Support

  • Established Mechanical & Electrical "Hands On" working background

  • Completed UK TTF Career Training or TEST Courses in SWSS, Launcher, Navigation or Fire Control

  • Good Working Knowledge of Launcher, Fire Control, Navigation & SWSS Equipment

  • Demonstrate the ability to supervise, develop and mentor technical staff

  • Good working knowledge of SWS Documentation

  • Good working knowledge of the SWS Logistics Processes

  • Promotion of a Positive Culture towards Health and Safety

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having the ability to communicate effectively, formally and informally with a wide range of people throughout the SWS extended community

  • Be flexible and adaptable while maintaining a good attention to detail in a changeable environment

  • Be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and reliable, show initiative and be able to work to a deadline
