Salary: £31,954.92 - £35,157.53 pro rata per annum (Term Time Only)

Contract Duration: Permanent

Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term time.

Role Purpose

Manage the day-to-day operation of the Unit. Produce staff Rota’s. Contribute to the production of menu items [Cook]. Ensure that quantities produced are of the correct level to meet business needs. Ensure that all retained foodstuffs after service are correctly labeled and stored for re-use. Ensure that all ordering is completed as required using the correct procedures. Ensure that all orders are received and checked to identify that delivered items are of the correct type, quality and quantity. Ensure that the kitchen is cleaned to the correct standard at the end of the day, week and month as cleaning schedules dictate. Delivery of the daily/weekly menus within appropriate budget constraints. Work within financial targets/guidelines as agreed with the Catering Service Manager [Budget] Responsible for welfare and safe work practices of all staff. [Health and Safety]. Responsible for Induction, basic training and appraisals of all staff. Responsible for the day-to-day administration. To undertake catering function work, occasionally out with the normal working day as required. Ordering of foods and cleaning materials as per the Approved Purchase Lists and maintaining the designated stock level. Meet agreed financial targets and submit financial reports. Maintain the expected standard of all equipment, reporting faults through the approved channels. Manage staff in accordance with agreed levels and all appropriate HR policies and procedures. Any other duties as specified by the Area Manager.

Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
