Based within Fort Street Children’s House, Motherwell, you will contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and services to continue to promote good outcomes for children and their families who experience residential child care. You will have specific responsibility for the management of a designated children’s house but will contribute to the development of the residential child care service as a whole. You will also assist the Education & Families Manager, ensuring effective liaison with other agencies, service users and carers to help identify unmet needs and assist with the service development and promote integrated provision

An SVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent together with significant experience in a management post within Residential Child Care including effectively managing or leading a team to deliver agreed outcomes.  You should also have a developed understanding of childcare, procedures, practice and service standards. A Dip SW, CQSW or equivalent and a registered Manager Award is desirable

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role. You will also be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and have a working knowledge of current legislation and policies in relation to corporate parenting, best value and performance management issues
