Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician (Master Craftsperson) to be based at our Fleet Workshop facility, at Pinkston Road, Glasgow.
The successful candidate may be required to work from other Scottish Ambulance Service Workshops, on occasions, you will be one of a highly skilled and dedicated team reporting to the Workshop Chargehand.

The successful candidate will:
Be a qualified Vehicle Technician with experience in the maintenance and repair of cars and light commercial vehicles.
Have undertaken an automotive apprenticeship and be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or comparable qualification) or equivalent experience.
Have experience operating in a demanding working environment with health and safety at the forefront of our operation.  
Be confident in delivering a high-quality vehicle and equipment support, with a minimum of supervision, to our front-line colleagues throughout the West Region. 
Have a sound working knowledge of vehicle diagnostics.
Having a knowledge of electrical and tail lift repairs would be advantageous. 
Be familiar in the use of internet and e-mail is desirable
Hold a full driving licence with C1 entitlement or attain C1 entitlement within 12 months (support may be available to attain this and can be discussed at interview).

This is a full-time position working a weekly alternating early/late shift (between 06:00 to 21:15hrs) 37 hours Monday to Friday, there is weekend working on a 1 weekend in 6 rota, Saturday or Sunday with a rest day taken in the following week. You will also be required to be undertake occasional overtime and public holiday working, both paid at the appropriate enhanced rate.

Shifts and working hours may be subject to change due to the reduction in the working going to 36 hours by April 2026.
