Are you a skilled driver with a passion for cars and delivering exceptional customer service? Steer Automotive Group, a leading company in the automotive repair industry, is looking for a Valetor/ Driver to join our team at our sites in Ayr.

About the Role:

As a Valetor/ Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customer vehicles are well-maintained and delivered safely. Your responsibilities will include:


​Driver Duties:

  • Collecting vehicles from customers and transporting them to our repair site.
  • Delivering repaired vehicles back to customers promptly and safely.
  • Providing excellent customer service throughout the entire process.
  • Ensuring legal compliance under the Road Traffic Act.
  • Supporting other sites when needed to cover absences.

Valeting Duties:

  • Washing, polishing, and vacuuming vehicles to ensure they are in pristine condition for customer handovers.
  • Detailing vehicles with close attention to quality standards.
  • Carrying out minor maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels and tire pressures.
  • Managing cleaning supplies and stock, reporting any shortages.

About You:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Driving Experience: Prior experience in a commercial driving role, ideally as a vehicle recovery driver.
  • Valeting Experience: Experience in a valeting or vehicle preparation role is preferred but not essential.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure vehicles meet high standards.
  • Customer Service Skills: A friendly and professional approach to working with customers.
  • Organisational Skills: The ability to manage your time effectively and adapt to changing tasks.
  • Team Player: A collaborative attitude, with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to support other sites and adapt to different work priorities.
  • Driving Licence: A valid, clean UK driving licence and be over 21 (due to insurance requirements).
