Vessel Accountant

Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be working with a global oil service company to hire a Vessel Accountant on a full time, fixed term contract basis. You will be based in Westhill with hybrid working, flexible hours and an excellent benefits package. The contract is due to last for an initial period of 12 months with possibility of extension or permanent position.

The Opportunity

The Vessel Accountant will manage the timely provision of all financial provisions including budgeting and forecasting for the vessels assigned to you. Your responsibilities will include:

• Daily support to the Vessel Superintendents in relation to vessel finances
• Preparation of detailed monthly management accounts
• Preparation of monthly analytical review
• Identify and report variances / areas of concern to Vessel Superintendents and Fleet Accountants
• Upload and review forecast results
• Identify and report sensitivities to Fleet Accountants
• Preparation of Annual Budgets and input to 5 Year Plan
• Capex reporting
• Cash flow analysis

Background and Experience

You will be an experienced finance professional, ideally with experience in a similar role. You will have good working knowledge of SAP and Excel. Exposure to Business Finance Capital would be beneficial but not essential.
