Veterinary Surgeon

Burgess Hill Vets for Pets, West Sussex

Permanent, Full-time

£50000 - £70000

Job Description

Our friendly small animal practice in Burgess Hill is on the lookout for an enthusiastic vet, with experience, to become part of our team!

Why Choose Us?

At our practice, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional veterinary care with a compassionate touch. Our clients trust us to provide comprehensive workups for their beloved pets, allowing you the opportunity to truly engage with each case. With a busy caseload and a supportive environment, you'll thrive as you go the extra mile for our patients!

Our Amazing Team:

Join a fantastic group of 9 experienced vets, 9 qualified nurses, dedicated trainee nurses, and a welcoming front-of-house team. Many of our team members are pursuing certificates, and we fully support your professional growth, encouraging you to explore any areas of interest that enhance our services.

Our Facilities:

Work in a purpose-built, recently renovated practice equipped with all the mod-cons, including digital X-ray, ultrasonography, in-house laboratory facilities, and separate wards for dogs, cats, and isolation cases. With a loyal client base and approximately 30% insured, you'll have the resources to provide the highest standard of care.

What We're Looking For:

We seek a vet with 3+ years experience who has good medical and surgical skills and a desire to continue to learn and develop. Most importantly we are looking for an individual who cares deeply for their patients, wants to do the best for their clients and who work well within a team. You'll primarily handle consultations, with at least one dedicated operations day each week.

Work-Life Balance:

We understand the importance of flexibility and are open to tailoring hours to fit your lifestyle. While our ideal candidate can commit to 40 hours per week, we're happy to discuss part-time options. Typical shifts are 8am - 6pm or 10am - 8pm (with only one late shift per week), with 1 weekend (Sat 9-6, Sun 10-4) a month. Plus, there's no sole charge work and no OOH responsibilities.

In return, we offer:

  • Salary £50,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Generous CPD/support to do a certificate or other qualification
  • Clinical freedom
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA, ISFM)
  • Great clients and lovely colleagues
  • Close to Brighton and the South Downs National Park

If you're ready to join a caring, collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of our beloved practice in Burgess Hill!

Location: RH15 9UG

Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
