Full Job Description

  • In conjunction with the V&A Adviser, design, co-ordinate and deliver train the trainers courses for not only NHS Ayrshire & Arran staff, but also for other NHS Boards and external agencies
  • Be a V&A Assessor for other NHS Boards and external agencies - ensuring that potential trainers are able to safely and competently teach both the theoretical and practical aspects of training
  • In conjunction with the V&A Adviser, facilitate and deliver annual updates to all Violence and Aggression Trainers and Key-Workers
  • Support, motivate, monitor performance and offer advice and guidance to Violence and Aggression Trainers and Key-Workers, ensuring best practice is fully implemented and national guidelines are complied with (the post holder will not have any direct line management responsibilities), Please note, for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (i.e. BsC in Violence Reduction or equivalent) or evidence of prior experience, learning and knowledge
  • Instructors Certificate in Therapeutic Management of Aggression & Violence
  • Consultant Trainer for Therapeutic Management of Violence & Aggression Consortium
  • NEBOSH Certification, or equivalent qualification or substantive experience in relevant field
  • Previous experience in delivering violence and management training within NHS, Acute or Primary Care Setting or other healthcare setting or similar
