Full Job Description

Eden Scott is delighted to be working with a Scottish distillers who have over 70 years’ experience of distilling, bottling and exporting Scotch whisky and other spirits around the world.

They own two single malt distilleries - a Distillery set in the heart of Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park and a Distillery, located in the ancient city of Brechin in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland - each producing their own range of award winning Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. Their bottling & production plant is based in Coatbridge on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Their success is based on tailoring product specifications to meet customers' requirements, providing rapid response to customers' needs and expectations and supplying excellent products at competitive prices. Their goal is to provide their customers with the products they want, when they want them, at the right price and quality.

As one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, dating back to 1825, their Brechin Distillery is developing a new visitor centre which will pay homage to its rich heritage with a dedicated exhibition space showcasing the history of the East Highland distillery and its surroundings. The visitor centre will also house a retail space and tasting rooms, as well as a whisky lounge, café and function suite for corporate hospitality and private hire.

Architectural landmarks of the distillery are also set to be reimagined as part of the construction, including the distinctive pagoda roofs, reinterpreting the 'Doig Ventilators' as skylights to provide natural light and ventilation to the space.

Much work has gone into developing plans to craft an immersive visitor experience suited to both their historic distillery and the vibrant community which surrounds it.

“Blending tradition with modernity, a stone facade will wrap around the two-floor visitor centre, complementing the existing distillery buildings while adding a contemporary feel, with enhanced amenities to elevate the overall visitor experience.”

The team handcrafts single malt Scotch whisky in a process that’s remained unchanged for almost 200 years. In 2021, the Distillery re-installed a working internal waterwheel, modelled on the original which was used to power the distillery back in in 1825. Now, with work underway on the state-of-the-art visitor centre, the team will be able to share their vibrant story with the world.

The new visitor centre will open its doors to visitors and locals alike in spring 2025.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as Visitor Centre Manager at this Distillery on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing Scotch Whisky company where you will play a key role in developing their new Visitor Centre.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the safe operation and management of their visitor centre, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience for their guests. This role involves supervising staff, managing budgets, maximising revenue, coordinating events and programmes, maintaining exhibits, and fostering positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
