Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Location: Remote with 50% travel Closing date: 29th November 2024 We are currently recruiting for the VP Operations Excellence role within our Ecomm & Retail division The Primary focus is significant cost reduction for DHL and our customers which will result in improved profit, renewal rates and more new business. You will shape, drive and lead the business, defining strategy and tactics to deliver and grow an operational model for the existing and targeted customers, meeting safety & service standards and exceeding quality standards in line with business objectives, corporate guidelines, and policies. Balancing organisational and Customer requirements to deliver on the 3 bottom lines each year with a clear plan to invest in and commercialise ESG agenda. This will be achieved by:
- Identifying and implementing initiatives that result in significant cost reductions for DHL and its customers.
- Ensuring the highest standards of safety across operations, prioritising and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
- Driving the successful implementation of global operations excellence initiatives, such as OMS (Operations Management System)
- Developing a logical divisional real estate strategy by determining the optimal distribution of facilities and resources to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Conducting thorough evaluations and scrutiny of new business proposals to ensure that new ventures align with DHL's operational standards, strategic goals, and profitability objectives.
- Overseeing the successful launch and operation of start-up ventures.
- Ensuring that all sites within Ecomm & Retail operate in compliance with DHL's quality and security standards.
- Driving the industrialized rollout of proven technologies and innovations. What do we need from you?
- Experience of working across Business Units/sectors
- A strong background and expertise in operational management, including knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, warehousing, and related operational functions.
- Experience of matrix management - managing teams and projects in a cross-functional or cross-organizational structure
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement (CI), transformation, or operations excellence roles. This includes implementing process improvements, lean methodologies, and driving operational efficiencies within an organisation.
- To possess the ability to influence and create impact for stakeholders within all levels of the organisation
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing teams and driving organizational change. This includes the ability to inspire and motivate others, make strategic decisions, and lead by example.
