Full Job Description

Reporting to the Cheese and Whey Process Team Leader requirements of the role will include:-

  • Running process operations and understanding control measures - Membrane Filtration, Pasteurisation, Separation, tanker loading

  • Day to day data gathering / checking and sample testing

  • Ensuring production plans are completed on time, carrying out corrective actions as appropriate

  • Ensuring high standards of Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety are maintained including compliance to "MO"

  • Providing support to the Team Leader and Specialist when required

  • Highlighting issues that will affect daily plans, working with the maintenance department to overcome obstacles and implement recovery plans

  • Working using own initiative under pressure with minimum supervision

  • Be a proactive team player contributing to continuous improvement and demonstrating Lean principles for example problem solving, DRMs and 5S

  • Have a very flexible attitude to hours of work which include weekend, shift working on a rota basis and holiday cover.

  • Ensures a safe, clean and good working environment utilising 5S principles

  • Build a good working relationship with multiple external customers.


  • Hours of work include weekend and shift working on a rota basis. Current 24hr - 7day shift pattern operating.

    An excellent opportunity has arisen in our Whey Process department. The opportunity will be grade 2 level and allow the successful candidate to learn a new skill in a processing environment. Ideally the candidate will have some experience of process control systems, a mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills, would also be an advantage.
