Full Job Description

We have a requirement for skilled Offshore Technicians with expertise in Major Component Exchange for wind turbines to join our Client's offshore project in the UK.

As an Offshore MCE Technician, you will be responsible for performing major component exchanges on offshore wind turbines, ensuring their efficient and safe operation.

  • Start date 9th July, working 2on/2 off rotation until mid-August, with possibility of further contract
  • CTV deployment from Aberdeen harbour
  • Both PAYE / Ltd Co Options available

Key responsibilities:

  • Major Component Exchange - execute complex maintenance and replacement procedures for major components of wind turbines such as gearboxes, main bearings, generators
  • Safety Compliance - adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and secure manner
  • Technical Troubleshooting - conduct technical troubleshooting and fault finding to identify and resolve issues with wind turbine components
  • Documentation - maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including logs, reports, and technical documentation
  • Team Collaboration - working closely with other technicians and the project team to ensure seamless communication and coordination

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, minimum SVQ/ NVQ Level 3
  • Mechanical experience
  • Knowledge of wind turbine systems, components and troubleshooting procedures (Vestas V164 turbine experience preferred)
  • Proven experience as an Offshore Technician with expertise in major component exchange for wind turbines
  • Use of tooling and heavy lift materials
  • Heavy lifting operations
  • Disassembly of turbine Drivetrains
  • Installation of main components
  • Rebuild of drive drains
  • Lifting gear usage
  • Working under Wind Turbine Safety Rules
  • Working under pre-defined lifting plans
  • Operating from CTV deployment or SOV deployment

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
  • Working as part of a multinational team
  • Working day or night shifts

  • WTSR Core, MMI & Practical
  • Technical and Operational Safety
  • Safety Awareness Induction
  • Safe Torque and Tension
  • Enhanced First Aid
  • Advanced Rescue Training
  • Lift User (only if Avanti cert has expired)
