Full Job Description

Balfour Beatty Living Places is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Work Winning Director to join our Senior Management Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the work winning strategy, identifying new market opportunities, driving improvement across account management, and overseeing a multi-disciplinary team. Reporting directly to the UK Construction Services Work Winning Director with a dotted line to the Living Places Managing Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the future direction of the business, ensuring our work winning function aligns with the overall business objectives and drives growth.What you'll be doing

  • Contribute to the leadership of the business and collaboration across UK Construction Services and Group.
  • Develop and implement the overall work winning strategy and pipeline to set and deliver business plan target. Identify key market changes and promote an appropriate response.
  • Leadership and line management of bid management function, to include development of opportunity pursuit plans that identify customer selection criteria and the Balfour Beatty value proposition and competitive positioning. Ensure effective management of the bid from receipt to contract award.
  • Ensure we have effective sector and customer relationship plans and appropriate levels of customer engagement.
  • Ensure effective opportunity selection and resource utilisation to maximise conversion success rates.
  • Maintain effective customer and pipeline data in CRM system.
  • Ensure Gated Business Lifecycle and Delegated Levels of Authority compliance.

    Experience of the construction sector, and an understanding of both Business Development and Bid Management.
  • Experience of strategic / High Value selling and familiar with a range of procurement and contract models.
  • Developed leadership and communication skills are required, enabling effective decision making under pressure.
  • Listening skills to understand the customer agenda and balance competing business priorities. Persuasive to enable engagement and influencing of diverse stakeholders to align to the business strategy.
