About the Role

As a Workshop Controller at Steer Automotive’s Edinburgh location, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy accident repair workshop. Your role will be critical in ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently, on time, and to the highest industry standards. • Communication: Serve as the link between service advisors and technicians, providing updates on vehicle repair progress to customers.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safe working practices within the workshop.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee parts stock levels and collaborate with the parts team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Staff Development: Mentor and train technicians, fostering a positive, productive environment and addressing any training needs.

About You

You will ideally have hands-on experience as an MET, Panel, or Paint Technician within an accident repair setting, coupled with previous supervisory experience. We’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and repair processes.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
  • Proficiency in workshop management software and other relevant systems.
  • A full UK driving licence.

If you’re a proactive, detail-oriented Workshop Controller seeking a new challenge within a fast-growing accident repair company, we’d love to hear from you!
