Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an XR Lab Manager to join the University's Information Services team.

As an XR Lab Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of IT and support in the use of XR technologies used in teaching and research in the University.

Based in the University's Mazumdar-Shaw Advanced Research Centre on the University's Western Campus, the post-holder is the primary IT support provider for the XR facility in the ARC and elsewhere on campus. Operating as individual technical adviser for all members of staff and visitors, ensuring the XR facilities support seamless access to models, software, and services for students, visitors, and other XR consumers both in the ARC and the other XR facilities used extensively across campus in teaching and research.

The post-holder will oversee the full lifecycle of lab equipment, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) as well as dedicated computing. The post-holder will work closely with XR Strategy Manager to implement novel hardware and software solutions to capitalise on the University of Glasgow's outstanding XR technology deployment.
