Full Job Description

  • Maintaining service stability and optimisation.
  • Support and implement changes to our estate within LBG as required.
  • Resolution of incidents and problems across the LBG estate in line with LBG KPI's.
  • Provide 24x7 support and provide support for projects and team workload as required.
  • Identify, review, evaluate and mitigate potential risks ensuring adherence to relevant risk policies and frameworks or to ensure compliance with internal/external regulation.
  • Help drive the strategy and design across the estate.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, drive and deliver against the technology roadmap.
  • Enforce standardisation and assist with improvement initiatives in the team.

    Career background as a Mainframe Engineer working at a mid to senior level.
  • Must have extensive experience z/OS and zVM Networking (Communication server, SNA, TCP/IP)
  • Must have knowledge of all the following z/OS, zVM, USS, SDSF, JCL.
  • Session Management products e.g., TPX, CL/Supersession, NC-Access
  • Network Management products e.g., NETVIEW
  • Experience of diagnosing and troubleshooting critical on-line systems.
  • Highly motivated and encouraging teammate with a strong delivery ethic, willing to work unsociable hours when required and at short notice to support incidents and delivery of key projects.
  • Strong delivery experience ideally operating in multifaceted IT environments or companies.
  • Professionalism and dedication of commercial and interpersonal awareness and working with 3rd Parties.

    We are the Mainframe Networks Team within z Mainframe Services who look after the Mainframe Network estate across the whole of Lloyds Banking Group.
  • The z Mainframe Lab consist of over 100 highly skilled and specialised colleagues. The systems we support, underpin almost everything we do at Lloyds Banking Group. As an IBM Networks subject matter expert on z Series Mainframe, you will function as technical authority for this area. This is a hands-on role where you will configure and maintain products and services according to Group standards and policies (and to agreed service levels) and will assist with the delivery of projects within the teams' focus - this includes operational support 24/7.
