Full Job Description
Are you an experienced product strategy leader and a subject matter expert in consumer credit? If you have deep understanding of how to operationalise regulatory and legal requirements underpinning consumer credit, this could be the role for you. You'll own design and implementation of the consumer lending strategy and associated propositions for AXA Commercial. You'll design, develop and launch effective solutions for customers that meet their needs at point of sale and on an ongoing basis. You'll be the technical product owner and use your consumer credit expertise to navigate regulatory and legal landscapes, creating an optimised end to end framework and service proposition. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. Monthly meetings in London. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. What you'll be doing:
- Develop and implement AXA Commercial's overall strategy for consumer credit products, ensuring alignment with regulations, legislation and broader AXA UK&I businesses.
- Identify market trends, emerging risks and consumer needs. Design a clear end-to-end product roadmap including customer facing and back end administrative processes.
- Act as consumer credit lead for AXA Commercial's transformation programme, which includes migration to a new credit facility with a third party.
- Oversee design and launch of changes to consumer credit proposition, which meet regulatory standards and customer expectations.
- Own third party relationships and implement a framework to oversee effectiveness and monitor appropriateness of consumer outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Underwriting on operational processes.
- Partner with Head of Credit Risk to ensure appropriate monitoring of credit risk exposure. Put in place appropriate measures to product design and associated processes to manage delinquency and default rates.
- Build a suite of product key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicator (KRIs) to allow effective product and risk management. - Significant demonstratable experience in a senior consumer credit strategic role - essential
- Experience of working in a large international business with group requirements, UK policy and frameworks, and local requirements.
- Financial Services industry knowledge of how key issues and risks affect credit lending and broking.
- Expertise to navigate a complex, uncertain and changing regulatory backdrop.
- Ability to take complex issues and distil these into simple concepts for business stakeholders.
- Management of opposing stakeholder requirements. Identify and implement solutions that balance conduct, operational and financial risk.
- Influencing and negotiation skills.
- Judgement and prioritisation skills. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
