Location: Marischal College, Broad Street, Aberdeen

Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job purpose/about the role

As a member of the Fairer Aberdeen and Anti-Poverty Team within the Prevention and Community Empowerment Service you will supports the development of anti-poverty activity to address the needs of priority communities and disadvantaged groups, and anti-poverty outcomes relating to the Community Planning Partnership’s Local Outcome Improvement Plan, Locality Plans, and local priorities.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline 

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of coordinating the contributions of internal and external stakeholders to deliver a project or programme
  • Demonstrable project and project management skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills tailored to a range of audiences
  • Excellent report writing skills and experience of producing publicly accessible information
  • Excellent and developed interpersonal skills with experience of forging new relationships with others at all levels of organisation both within Aberdeen City Council and with external partners
  • Ability to meet deadlines and organisational priorities
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team;
  • Experience of operating in in a multi-agency and or multi-disciplinary environment
