This opportunity would suit someone with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, ideally within a law firm. The ideal candidate will be highly organised with good attention to detail, as well as being a strong communicator

with people at various levels.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Proactively engage with clients to facilitate the timely settlement of unpaid invoices, enhancing cash flow and minimising overdue accounts.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the firm, including senior staff, administrative support, and business management teams.
Assist in the preparation and review of monthly cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making.
Assess the accounts receivable ledger to identify critical issues and prioritize actions to manage financial risks.
Highlight and escalate accounts requiring further attention to ensure payment is secured, providing necessary details to the credit control team.
Participate in regular meetings to review outstanding client payments, collaborate with senior staff to determine the nature of outstanding debts, agree on effective collection strategies, and escalate any significant debt concerns
Prepare and send correspondence related to collections to both internal teams and external clients.
Assist with cash receipting tasks as needed.
Regularly update and maintain collection activities in the in-house software, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Participate in ledger review meetings with the Credit Control Lead to address unresolved issues.
Keep client information current and accurate within the in-house software.
Prepare detailed reports for key client accounts, senior staff, or clients upon request.
Coordinate client refunds and investigate any unidentified payments.
Ensure all tasks are performed in strict compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

To be considered for this opportunity, our client does require the following background / experience:

A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar Credit/Collections role.
Experience working in a law firm is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a confident and tactful telephone manner, especially when under pressure.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external clients at all levels.
Skilled in negotiating suitable outcomes and possessing practical problem-solving abilities.
Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
Organised and methodical approach to work.
A cooperative and flexible team player.
Proven ability to work to individual and team targets within specified deadlines.
High degree of initiative and a proactive approach.
Knowledge of debt recovery procedures.
Some knowledge of insolvency procedures would be an advantage.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
Confident in working with enterprise IT systems (experience with ERPs or similar software is preferable).
