We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Part Qualified Management Accountant to join our Finance team. BEAR Scotland employs over 900 people across Scotland and holds contracts for the maintenance of over half of the Scottish trunk road network.

 

Job Purpose

You will join the finance team which is based in the Perth Head Office with the option of hybrid working available. We have various offices across Scotland and location can be flexible. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will provide support in all finance related activities including monthly management accounts for the business, asset reporting, balance sheet management, project profitability analysis and audit deliverables. You will be expected to work with managers across the wider business.

The successful applicant will have a relevant degree and part-qualified, or part-qualified through experience and be keen to progress with their studies through a relevant professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ICAS) which BEAR Scotland will financially support. We would also be keen to consider recently qualified candidates. The ideal candidate will already have progressed some way towards their professional qualification or be recently qualified. They will have a minimum two years’ experience in a finance role and be able to demonstrate experience in some of the key responsibilities listed below.

  • Business partnering with contract and/or functional managers
  • Provide analytical review of projects
  • Identify areas for cost reduction and profit improvement

  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting
  • Systems Improvements
  • Banking
  • VAT
  • CIS
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Ad-hoc finance reports
  • Ad-hoc projects


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • IT Literate (Strong Excel skills preferable. MS Dynamics or other integrated system experience would be beneficial.)
  • Self-confident
  • Self-motivated
  • A good communicator
  • Willing to complete further study
  • Experience in monthly management accounts process
