Full Job Description
I am delighted to bring to market an exclusive opportunity to join a leading global business who has a new permanent requirement. Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Analyst to join their team and work directly with the Director of Tax in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This newly created role offers the opportunity to handle large volumes of complex data, leveraging advanced Excel skills and automating processes to drive efficiency.
Salary circa £45k + benefits including free parking and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for supporting the Director of Tax by transforming manual, resource-heavy processes into streamlined, automated workflows using advanced Excel techniques, including macros. This role requires someone with strong technical acumen, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for continuous improvement in financial data processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management & Analysis: Handle large, complex datasets, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting and analysis. Prepare and manipulate data sets for tax-related financial reports.
- Excel Expertise: Utilize advanced Excel functionalities (including formulas, macros, pivot tables, and VBA) to automate processes, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Collaboration with Director of Tax: Work closely with the Director of Tax to provide timely and accurate financial insights. Support with tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and implement solutions that improve data accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Reporting & Presentation: Prepare financial models, tax reports, and presentations to facilitate strategic decision-making for senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Liaise with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration in delivering tax-related financial analysis and reports.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a finance analyst role, with a solid background in handling large datasets and working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Highly proficient in Excel, including advanced formulas, macros, pivot tables, and VBA. Experience in automating processes and streamlining workflows is essential.
- Strong ability to analyse and transform complex data into actionable insights. Experience in financial modelling and reporting is a plus.
- A track record of identifying inefficiencies in manual processes and successfully implementing automated, data-driven solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and present data-driven insights.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with tax-related financial data or working closely with tax departments.
- A background in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Familiarity with other financial tools or ERP systems is a bonus.
