You will provide supervisory support and guidance to a small team of legal cashiers and offer assistance to the head cashier, ensuring a high level of departmental service is provided.

This is an ideal role for a finance assistant with legal experience or a legal cashier seeking a progression opportunity.

Job

The role of Senior Legal Cashier will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

Leading and overseeing a small team of Cashroom staff
Serving as Deputy to the Head Cashier, taking charge when necessary
Training, mentoring, and supervising the Cashroom team to ensure high performance
Ensuring adherence to the Law Society of Scotland and SRA Accounts Rules
Managing and updating data within the firm’s Practice Management System
Providing audit evidence and ensuring compliance in handling client funds
Proactively identifying and managing risks, with regular reporting
Creating and documenting efficient processes and procedures
Promoting efficiencies and driving continuous improvement within the team

You

As a Senior Legal Cashier you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

Extensive experience in a legal Cashroom setting
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
Strong expertise in financial systems and data reconciliation
Proficient in using Practice Management Systems
In-depth knowledge of Law Society of Scotland and SRA Accounts Rules
Exceptional organisational and staff management capabilities
Ability to work autonomously and navigate complex challenges
Strong sense of professional responsibility and integrity
