Job Title: Accounts Payable Compliance Manager
Location: Glasgow | Hybrid
I have partnered with an international organisation as they are searching for an experienced Accounts Payable Compliance Manager. This role provides the opportunity to play a key part in overseeing the compliance of our accounts payable processes, ensuring they align with regulatory standards and best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to maintain an effective compliance framework while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement policies and procedures that govern accounts payable, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
- Regularly review and update procedures to keep pace with changes in the legal and tax landscape.
- Act as the lead point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation and resolution of audit requests.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of accounts payable activities to proactively identify areas for improvement or potential vulnerabilities.
- Manage the vendor onboarding process, ensuring that suppliers meet the required compliance standards.
- Work with key stakeholders to create and deliver training programs on compliance, best practices, and procedural updates.
- Ensure the finance team stays informed about regulatory developments that may impact accounts payable processes.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for operational improvements to enhance compliance and efficiency.
- Collaborate across departments to align on compliance goals and streamline processes.
- Provide regular management updates on accounts payable compliance through comprehensive reporting and analysis.
- Partner with other teams, particularly Financial Control, to ensure consistency in compliance practices across the organisation.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Solid experience in a compliance or financial control role, with a deep understanding of accounts payable procedures.
- Experience in managing audits or working with regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
- Professional qualification in accounting (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW) or equivalent experience (QBE).
- A proactive approach to professional development and staying abreast of compliance changes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in managing financial processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex compliance challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risks and implement effective strategies for mitigating them.
- Leadership experience, particularly in guiding teams through compliance-related changes and training initiatives.
