Oliver Smith Recruitment are working in partnership with our key client in Bishopbriggs to hire a Finance Assistant on a permanent basis.

This role is to support and work with the Financial Accounting Manager in ensuring that key deliverables are achieved. Namely, the timely completion of month-end and year-end procedures and assisting with maintaining accurate financial records throughout the year.

Main duties:

Posting of daily cashbooks.
Preparing and posting month-end journals including accruals and prepayments, FX, recharges and any other adjustment journals.
Maintaining the fixed assets register and depreciation schedule.
Reviewing and posting weekly/monthly payroll journals.
Maintaining schedules and analyses of specific accounts.
Involvement in the preparation of reports and analyses used for VAT and other tax returns.
Assisting the Finance team with their month-end review and helping to investigate and resolve any queries with the accounts.
Preparing and distributing specific internal reports to managers and the wider Finance team.
Performing month-end and quarter-end balance sheet reconciliations for all relevant accounts and providing detailed explanations for any variances.
Assisting in the year-end statutory audit as required.
Providing ad-hoc support to the Finance team on project work and other deliverables.
