Job Description
This role offers dynamic and interesting work, much of which involves delivering services for the benefit of the public throughout the picturesque Aberdeenshire area. We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic candidate to enhance our private water supplies team within Protective Services.
The role will include carrying out Risk Assessment of private water supplies. You will also be required to undertake routine samples required by the Water Intended for Human Consumption (Private Supplies) (Scotland) Regulations 2017. You will also be expected to assess and administer improvement grants to eligible users on private water supplies.
You must have a current driving licence and have the ability to travel within the council area.
The candidate requires to be a skilled individual who can demonstrate initiative and take responsibility for decisions to achieve required results and be comfortable using a variety of Microsoft Applications.
You should have experience of relevant sampling and inspection/assessment tasks. It would be desirable to have experience of; private water supplies and water treatment technology, interpreting scientific reports and professional report writing and being in a role exercising an environmental discipline such as geography, science, geology or hydrology.
You should be able to work on own initiative and have good communication and inter-personal skills. It would be desirable to have some knowledge of relevant private water supply regulation and Environmental Health Issues.
