Full Job Description
Employee Relations Business Partner
Our client, a reputable and forward-thinking organisation, is currently seeking an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join their established HR team. This is a key role within the business, reporting directly to the HR Director, and offers an exciting opportunity to influence and shape the employee relations landscape within the organisation. The role offers hybrid working. The right candidate will need to travel between both their Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and productive working environment. The primary focus of the position is to promote fair and consistent treatment of employees, manage complex employee relations cases, and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
This position requires excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, alongside a thorough understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective employee relations strategies to support a positive workplace culture
- Ensure the organisation remains compliant with employment legislation, providing expert guidance to management on all ER matters
- Advise and support managers and staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practice
- Lead investigations into grievances and disciplinary matters, ensuring impartiality and confidentiality throughout
- Partner with managers to manage performance issues and support appropriate resolution and action planning
- Facilitate discussions between staff and management to resolve conflicts and encourage open, constructive communication
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in an employee relations-focused role, ideally within a complex or fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrable experience managing ER casework, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinaries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive matters with integrity and discretion
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
