Full Job Description
Regional Marcomms Manager - Scotland wide
Remote - Homebased in Scotland
Salary - Up to £38,000 plus company car
About the role
We are looking for a proactive self-starter to sit within a high-performing team working to raise awareness of SSAFA’s support in Scotland to those in the Armed Forces Community who need it most.
With the ultimate objective being to grow SSAFA’s Scottish presence, profile, and identity, the role is responsible for all regional marcomms activation in the region. The post holder will work to deliver the central Fundraising, Marketing & Communications strategy.
This role reports into the Head of Communications, with close alignment with the Fundraising Development Manager to identify areas of greatest impact, cut through, and increased presence across the full marcomms mix: from delivering integrated awareness campaigns, or gaining media cut through for fundraising events, through to finding and elevating stories relevant for our target audiences and Call to Actions (CTA).
With a heavy focus on media and PR activity, key to the role is building strong relationships and contacts with relevant regional stakeholders: media, employees, volunteers, and case study beneficiaries.
You will be responsible for managing regional marketing campaigns in Scotland and promoting SSAFA’s fundraising initiatives and Services that it offers.
About the team
The Communications team is a small but dynamic group of individuals with strong skillsets across Public Relations, Storytelling (case studies) and Internal Communications. The team is a mix of ex-forces and civilians, and they are always sharing knowledge and expertise with each other.
You will work closely across all directorates within SSAFA, with a focus in Scotland, to garner information and create compelling marcomms campaigns and activities to raise awareness of SSAFA’s work.
About you
A highly motivated and creative communicator with a proven track record of delivering impactful PR and marketing campaigns. A natural storyteller with strong media instincts, able to secure high-profile coverage and elevate brand presence. A confident relationship builder, skilled at engaging stakeholders across the region, from media contacts to volunteers and case study beneficiaries. Able to work independently while staying closely aligned with teams across fundraising and communications, you will be proactive and have the ability to manage multiple projects.
About SSAFA
