Anderson Knight is currently looking for a Construction Buyer for one of our clients based in South Lanarkshire on a full-time permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services necessary for our construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials.
Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to understand project requirements.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Address and resolve any issues related to delivery or quality of purchased items.
Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Stay updated on market trends and new products that could benefit the company.

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and services.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
