Full Job Description
Murray Recruitment are recruiting an Estimating Assistant for our client based in Lanarkshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established building services company that specialises in delivering high-quality projects across a variety of sectors.
As an Estimating Assistant, you will work closely with the Estimating Manager and wider team to support the preparation of accurate cost estimates for building services projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Estimating Manager in preparing tender submissions and pricing documentation.
- Collating and reviewing information required for tender processes, including drawings, specifications, and supplier quotations.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Analysing project requirements to ensure accuracy in estimates and budgets.
- Maintaining and updating pricing databases and other relevant documentation.
- Supporting the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management and clients.
- Monitoring tender deadlines and ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
- Undertaking general administrative duties to support the estimating team as required.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a similar role within the construction, facilities management, building services, or related industry is highly desirable.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Knowledge of estimating software or similar systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
