Full Job Description
Handyman
- Location: Edinburgh
- Job Type: Temporary
- Hours: 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking a skilled Handyman to work on school grounds, focusing on maintaining buildings and general upkeep. This is a short-term role with an immediate start, perfect for someone with a strong background in maintenance and a keen eye for detail. If you are hands-on and have a comprehensive knowledge of building maintenance, we encourage you to apply.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs across school buildings and grounds.
- Ensure all facilities are kept in excellent condition, including painting, minor plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance to avoid future problems and unnecessary costs.
- Respond to urgent maintenance calls and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in maintenance or as a handyman, preferably within a school environment.
- Strong overall knowledge of building maintenance.
- Good problem-solving skills and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- PVG (Basic Disclosure) is desired, indicating suitability for working in environments with children.
