Full Job Description
As a Technical Supervisor Airfields, you possess the essential qualities of confidence, proactivity, and organisation, which make you the perfect fit for this role. Your main responsibility would be to ensure that the asphalt, in terms of both material and laying quality, meets the specified requirements and performance standards. The crux of this role lies in ensuring that the asphalt is laid to the highest standards possible. What excites you is the opportunity to meticulously plan, coordinate, and support the team in their day-to-day activities. This role is an integral part of the esteemed Technical Team, with direct reporting to the Technical Manager.
You are not one to fall short of meeting requirements, as doing so could potentially impede the successful completion and performance standards. This role is far from the typical 9 to 5 job; it demands flexibility. Regular travel and working on various sites across the UK are inherent to the position. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be valued for your contributions as part of the largest independent construction materials group in the UK.
To truly excel in this role, you must possess unwavering confidence, proactivity, and organizational skills. We are particularly keen on bringing in someone who is driven by the pursuit of asphalt material quality. This role would be ideally suited for someone who pays meticulous attention to detail and can effectively conduct pavement quality testing and monitoring.
Working alongside a team of highly skilled professionals, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of sampling and testing asphalt materials to assess their mix properties and adherence to specifications. Additionally, you will conduct on-site pavement quality testing and monitoring, carefully record, and report against quality requirements, and perform laboratory testing on asphalt and aggregate materials. Furthermore, you will organize, liaise with, and lead in-house technicians and third-party suppliers to effectively manage the workload. Complying with Health & Safety and Environmental regulations is of utmost importance, and you will ensure strict adherence to these guidelines. Lastly, you will be required to undertake additional duties, tasks, and projects as requested by management.

* Ideally you will have experience working in this field although this is not essential as applications are welcome from practical, numerate, and literate individuals willing to apply themselves to the work and to take full advantage of the internal and external training available.
* You will have a flexible, proactive and ‘hands-on’ approach to work with effective communication, problem solving and IT skills.
* You will be involved with customers and colleagues at every level in the business and therefore you should be able to work confidently and courteously within the team and on your own initiative.
