Have you ever considered the joy involved in conducting marriage and civil partnership ceremonies for a living?

This role is based primarily in the wedding capital of Scotland, Gretna.

Gretna Customer Service Centre is the home of the busiest registration office in Scotland and we’re looking for new Casual Civil Celebrants.

To give you a sense of the role Civil Celebrants conduct Civil Marriages, Civil Partnerships, Naming and Re-affirmation of Vows ceremonies and other celebratory services provided by the Council in various authorised venues and offices throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

Imagine spending a significant portion of your working day helping Couples celebrate such a special occasion!

Ideally, you’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to deal with customer enquiries sensitively.

You’ll have experience working face to face with customers as well as be confident and comfortable in a public speaking role.

While this role is primarily based in Gretna there is a requirement to travel to other areas of Dumfries and Galloway (you’ll be amazed at the stunning places Couples choose for their ceremony and in this role, you get to experience them too!).

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

This is a casual post with no contracted commitment to hours so you get to enjoy delivering weddings with flexible working. We’re particularly interested in applications from candidates who can offer either/both of the following availability:

Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm

Saturday & Sunday 9am to 6pm
