East Calder Primary School – 27.5hrs/39 week – Fixed Term until 31/3/26

East Calder Primary School and ELC is a non-denominational school serving the village of East Calder and the surrounding community. The school sits within the West Calder High School cluster. At present, the total school roll is 447 pupils including a nursery with 104, 2-4 years olds registered.  This is made up of morning/afternoon and full day sessions.

Currently we have 20 members of teaching staff, 2 EYOs and 16 staff within our Nursery Team, and a team of pupil support workers, and advanced pupil support workers, who directly support our learners.

The advertised positions - PEF Pupil Support workers - are 27.5 hour posts and the successful candidate will be employed Monday – Friday during term time (Mon– Thurs: 8.30am – 3pm and Friday|: 8.30 – 12noon) in order to fully support the needs of learners within our service.

The school has well developed and mutually successful and supportive partnership links with local community groups and businesses.  We have earned a good reputation within the community and we are very well supported by the wider parent forum.

At East Calder Primary, you will become part of a hardworking and committed staff team.

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.  SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.  If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
