Full Job Description

Lecturer - Fabrication & Welding
40,170 - 48,357
1.0 FTE / 35 hours
Based at Falkirk Campus
Permanent

Due to an increase in demand for Fabricators and Welders, the Department of STEM and Construction is seeking an experienced candidate as a Lecturer to teach Fabrication/Welding Engineering for learners across SCQF levels 5 to 7 in a practical and experiential setting.

The role is a mixture of workshop and classroom delivery. Candidates with significant industrial experience in relevant engineering field/area will be considered. This will include candidates without previous teaching experience.

You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching relative to the specialist areas of fabrication/welding.

Ideally, candidates will hold a relevant Higher National qualification or professional equivalent.

Teaching experience is desirable but not essential; the successful candidate should be prepared to work toward a professional teaching qualification, and Assessor and Verifier qualifications.

Initially, the main role would be delivery of practical, experiential learning within the engineering workshops. However, there will be elements of in-class delivery as part of this role.

Ideally, you will work as part of a team to ensure that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date.

You will also have appropriate ICT skills and possess good knowledge and understanding of health and safety.

The Department of STEM and Construction operates across all three Forth Valley campuses and there may be a requirement to work at our other campuses if required.

We offer excellent terms and conditions and staff benefits, including:

- Generous holiday entitlement of 62 days including Public - Holidays & College Closure Days
- Access to Scottish Teachers Superannuation Pension Scheme
- Free access to the college gyms

A flexible working environment tailored to support work-life balance.

Participation in a cycle to work scheme, promoting a healthy and environmentally friendly commute option.

We are committed to ensuring an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We understand that individuals may have different needs and we are dedicated to providing reasonable adjustments to support candidates throughout the recruitment process.

If any adjustments are required to be made, please contact . The college will work with each individual to identify and implement appropriate solutions to ensure you have a fair and equitable opportunity to demonstrate your skills and qualifications.
