You will have teaching qualification, full GTC Registration and evidence of continuing Career Long Professional Learning.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Education Extended Leadership Team, ensure the Council’s Vision, Values and Priorities are delivered through the strategic leadership and development of aspects of education, learning and inclusion services, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency to deliver national and local improvement priorities. · Placing the human rights and needs of every child and young person at the centre of education · Improving children and young people’s health and wellbeing · Closing the attainment gap between the most and least disadvantaged children and young people · Improving skills and sustained, positive school-leaver destinations for all young people · Improving attainment and achievement, particularly in literacy and numeracy. In the above context, the Quality Improvement Education Officer (QIEO) has leadership responsibility for team members within the service.

The Individual

You will have proven teaching experience, leadership and management experience and expertise at senior management level in an education establishment. Significant professional competence and expertise within a related discipline, experience of developing and delivering professional learning, of performance improvement monitoring and analysing performance information and experience of the use of attainment and performance data to improve standards is essential. You will have evidence of very effective practice in and understanding of high-quality learning and teaching, and experience of promoting and improving effective learning and teaching along with good working knowledge of legislation and statutory duties in related field. ​ This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
