Full Job Description
Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Painting and Decorating at HMP Leyhill. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. In this role you will have an outstanding opportunity to positively enhance learners' lives through teaching at HMP Leyhill. Successful candidates for this position may be eligible for a 'Golden Hello' payment of up to £4,000. (subject to Weston College Group Policy, please contact for further information) Day to day of the role
- Organisational and administrative work.
- Preparation, assessment and marking.
- Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
- Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.
- Accurately completing registers, learner enrolments and completions., HMP Leyhill is a Category D men's prison nestled in Tortworth, Gloucestershire. As an adult male prison with Category D status, Leyhill is a hub for residents deemed suitable for Open conditions. In partnership with Weston College, residents at Leyhill can engage in educational pursuits, ranging from English and math to IT. Additionally, comprehensive vocational training equips individuals with valuable skills and qualifications in wood machining, printing, laundry, retail, kitchen operations, farming, gardening, and fitness. Leyhill takes pride in its personalized approach, offering programs in personal development, social skills, and life management to assist residents nearing their release. Qualified individuals may also benefit from temporary release licenses, enabling them to gain work experience, prepare for transition, or reconnect with their families. A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work. - Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
