Full Job Description
Your new company
You will be working in the role of Credit Controller in a business operating in the heart of Elgin. This role offers an immediate start and an ongoing temporary contract and is office-based in Elgin. This role may be extended and could offer a permanent contract.
Your new role
In your new role as a Credit Controller, you will work to mitigate financial risk, minimise outstanding invoices and work to reduce debt in the business. Working closely with the finance department, you will continually liaise with customers to collect outstanding debts and negotiate payment plans to settle accounts. You will maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions. You will assess new credit requests and review any new applications for credit. You will prepare reports based on the progress of debt recovery and highlight areas of concern to your manager.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successfully appointed, you will be able to work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, whilst keeping records up-to-date. You must have excellent communication skills, both in person and in written correspondence. An ability to portray confidence to handle difficult conversations will also be an important part of the role. Working in a fast-paced environment, you must have strong organisational and time-management skills. Ideally, you will have strong IT skills, good engagement in Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Excel. Previous experience in a Credit Control job would be of benefit but is not essential.
What you'll get in return
This role offers an immediate start date, an ongoing temporary contract for at least 3 months and the potential to extend or move into a permanent position. You will be paid a competitive hourly rate based on your experience and also accrue a holiday allowance. You will be paid weekly via Hays. In the office, you will work in a fast-paced, supportive environment and receive some on-the-job training to deliver the best results.
